1st Day
Well,1st day arriving at KPS( Kem Putra Sentosa), wore my St.Thomas's prefect red t-shirt and meet up with my school mates, William and Adam, and got out luggage checked and things are confiscated but luckilly our hand phone isn't(YAY!!!). The ones in camp at that time are all from Kuching and when we all arrived, we were asked to go down to the Padang Kawad to divide us into different companies mainly - A-Alpha, B-Bravo, C-Charlie and D-Delta, i ended up in Bravo with my school mate Adam while William ended up in Charlie..
Exploring
After that, we were brought to our dorms, everything were still new so i was kinda like a kid in a candy store but the walk to the Wira's(guys) dorms is quite far till my shoulder were crying under the weight of my luggage. Finally, the journey ended and i was places into L3 with a bunch of scary looking guys which turns out to a bunch of very nice guys in the end. Then,we were asked to put down our belongings and return to the hall for.....yes.....the hair cut.......
A New Giant Step
The rest of the day and days past without much incident, when the 1st actual Kekuatan was taken, its was time to elect a leader, people who has past experience were given priority, so, me being a newbie to this, wasn't considered until i volunteered, say anything you want but i wanna learn and take new challenges. My 1st try out was a nightmare, i was asked to face the lake and shout.....well, for those who knows me, my voice isn't THAT loud, so, i just gave it my all....the weird thing is, my legs kept on shaking...i still wonder why until nw...well, my voice actually meet the requirements bt the thing is i shout using my throat, not with my diaphram but still the volume was louder than some.. With me volunteering, allowed me to learn marching more than others as we were given extra lessons by the teachers to get ready for the interview, thats one thing to handle, the other is learning to give command, i sucked at it big time that time but i never gave up(thanks to my athlete training)...
ELECTED
Well, every night, there will be a roll call to ensure everyone is around...So, of course, here is where the leaders come into play, the chosen few were asked to stand in front, Cikgu Shafie, was the one choosing for Wira in Bravo. Well, at that time, i wasn't expecting much cause of the performances throughout the trainings-shaking legs and poor conducting ability BUT of all people, he chose me...and its the Ketua Kompeni post which left me shell shocked. So, i was made Ketua Kompeni Sementara, Don was Ketua Platun Wira and Aqilah was Ketua Platun Wirawati(Wwati)....Before anything started, i was already shaking in front(for your info, i was an emcee during my school days so i thought i could handle it, but i was wrong, i still shook)...and the incident which made me a laughing stock of the camp, the way i command... Kompeni, Kompeni Sedia! was the command, i gave it.....some laughed, which lowered my confidence even more cause it turned out to be that the way i gave the command was - Kompeniii, Kompeniii Sedia!, which also now, i still don't understand how...
Stressed Out
Well, with my one of a kind commanding, i was imitated by many, the worse of all, got laughed by the whole hall due to that...thanks to Cikgu Wahid who pointed that out during roll call and said i was a Japanese Army...i was given names like that too in the later days...being laughed really crushed my confidence but one of my company teacher, Cikgu Mona stood up and asked the hall to keep quiet and don't laugh. In my dorm, thanks to my wonderful friends there as they din't imitate me or anything like that which made me feel better. I was in a dilemma then whether or not to approach C.Piee(Shafie) for help as it was quite late and he was a fierce and seemed to be uncaring type of person...but it turned out that i could not had been more wrong. He answered my knock on the door, i told him my probs and he corrected me then asked me whats wrong, i told him that i was laughed and my tears was already coming down and i broke down, he din't say much but one thing i remember until now is that he said do not give up so easilly...then i left, back to my dorm... Just because of this case, i respected him the most in camp and turned to him everytime i have problems and yes, each time he helped...
